1)* X was designed by the Giles Gilbert Scott's, which was first introduced following a competition in 1924. It is often seen as a British cultural icon throughout the world. In 2006, it was voted one of the Britain's top 10 design icons. Despite a reduction in their numbers in recent years, these can still be seen in many places throughout the UK and in current or former British colonies around the world. But after 90 years later, X is becoming obsolete and recognising their cult status some are being preserved for entrepreneurs and communities re-purpose as these places are being used as a place to start libraries, Art Gallery and cafes.
